Don't Drink The Water

No, I'm not advising you for your impending trip to Mexico. I'm talking about the water that pours through the tap of your home. It contains the main ingredient (sometimes the only ingredient) of rat poison. You guessed it - sodium fluoride, everybody's favorite cavity-fighting/vermin-killing additive!

Here is some info stolen from one website:

Fluoride is a major intellect suppressant that is being added to drinking water supplies and toothpaste. Sodium fluoride is a common ingredient in rat and cockroach poisons, anesthetics, hypnotics, psychiatric drugs, and military nerve gas. It is one of the basic ingredients in Prozac and the Sarin nerve gas used in the attack in the Japanese subway system. Independent scientific evidence has claimed that fluoride causes various mental disturbances and makes people stupid, docile, and subservient. This is besides shortening life spans and damaging bone structure.

And from another:

"I have your letter of September 29 asking for further documentation regarding a statement made in my book, The Truth About Water Fluoridation, to the effect that the idea of water fluoridation was brought to England from Russia by the Russian Communist Kreminoff. "In the 1930`s, Hitler and the German Nazi`s envisioned a world to be dominated and controlled by a Nazi philosophy of pan-Germanism. The German chemists worked out a very ingenious and far-reaching plan of mass-control which was submitted to and adopted by the German General Staff. This plan was to control the population in any given area through mass medication of drinking water supplies. By this method they could control the population in whole areas, reduce population by water medication that would produce sterility in women, and so on. In this scheme of mass-control, sodium fluoride occupied a prominent place."

Woo hoo! I'll take a double-helping! Throw in some Aspartame while you're at it! (that's another blog...)

You're The Voice (lyric of the day)

Here's a song most of us have forgotten about. I heard it today, and really listened to the lyrics. The song was familiar, and it will probably be familiar to anyone who was around in the 80s. The song is "You're the Voice" by John Farnham.

At some point, we have to realize that WE are the voice. WE are the only way to effect change. How long are WE going to sit back and watch while everything we claim to hold dear is stolen from us? While our brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters die needlessly to keep money flowing into the pockets of a few huge corporate monsters? While our planet is destroyed, our air made toxic, our food and water polluted with chemicals... all in the name of profit?

How long? How long can we continue only worrying about ourselves, our greatest concern being who gets kicked off the island, or whether or not Tom Cruise is gay? Honestly, man... who the f*ck cares about these things?

YOU'RE THE VOICE (John Farnham)

We have the chance to turn the pages over
We can write what we wanna write
We gotta make ends meet before we get much older

We're all someone's daughter,We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun

You're the voice try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
Oooh, Whoa
We're not gonna sit in silence,
We're not gonna live with fear
Oooh, Whoa

In this time, we know we often stand together
We give power to the powerful
Even we can make it better

Ooh, We're all someone's daughter, We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun

You're the voice try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
Oooh, Whoa
We're not gonna sit in silence,
We're not gonna live with fear
Oooh, Whoa

Ooh, We're all someone's daughter, We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun

You're the voice try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
Oooh, Whoa
We're not gonna sit in silence,
We're not gonna live with fear
Oooh, Whoa

Oxymoron of the Day

President Bush, in a recent press conference, said something I finally agree with:

"The question is, do we have the desire and the capacity to spread peace?"

That is the question, sir. And the answer, quite obviously, is 'no.'

Which brings up an interesting point from this morning's news. France is sending 2,000 troops to Lebanon to increase the 'peacekeeping force' in the area. Apparently, the way to 'spread peace' is to send more troops.

So, the oxymoron of the day is: PEACEKEEPING FORCE.

I've seen the "Lord" - in glorious widescreen

This is definitely going to sound trite considering the tone of my last several posts, but I have just experienced something I have to share...

The "Movie Theater Experience" in my own living room.

I'm borrowing the digital projector of a friend, have a huge white muslin sheet draped in front of the "OLD" TV, and have just watched the first half hour of "Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring."

Wow. I can't even turn it up because the kids are sleeping, and it is still just an amazing experience. The light reflecting off the screen, instead of being forced through it... the hum of the projector "somewhere" in the background... being able to pause the movie to urinate... priceless.

Whatever else I may be in life, I am a movie buff. I may forget the plots of most of the movies I watch (which just means I watch them with fresh eyes every time), but movies are a humongous part of my life, and my life with my wife. I'd say we watch at least one movie just about every day of our lives. Well... maybe that's a slight exaggeration...

I will never watch a movie on my "OLD" TV in the same way again. Everything I watch will be compared to how Peter Jackson's masterpiece looked, flying through tiny particles of light across my living room and onto that giant sheet.

A Little About A Lot

Abraham Cherrix, the 16-year-old cancer patient fighting for the right to choose his own treatment, has won a victory today against the heavy hand of the state. A judge has allowed Cherrix to pursue his "alternative" treatment, as long as he continues receiving treatment from a radiation oncologist, and reports regularly to the court.

The story on the NBC news tonight featured a quote from a so-called "medical ethicist," who said - in an extremely condescending way - Cherrix and his family could continue their "magical potions" but would still have to accept more traditional treatment. The "magical potions" this "ethicist" was referring to are a diet of organic foods and nuts, as well as some natural herbs.

Here are the ingredients for a fountain Diet Pepsi drink:

treated water, caramel color, phosphoric acid, potassium benzonate (preserves freshness), aspartame, potassium citrate, caffeine, sodium saccharin, natural flavors, acesulfame potassium, citric acid, calcium disodium EDTA (to protect flavor)

Compare that to a no-sugar diet of organic foods, and tell me: which one sounds like a "magical potion"?

BBC Investigative reporter Greg Palast has a new book out, Armed Madhouse - Who's Afraid Of Osama Wolf? In it, he asserts that the concept of "peak oil" and the "war for oil" are hoaxes, and the real reason for the Middle East conflict(s) are that there is TOO MUCH oil, and prices were not high enough (for OPEC and the big oil companies).

Considering we've been "in control" of the Iraqi oil fields since 2003, and prices have steadily increased, it doesn't exactly sound far-fetched, does it?

Palast was a guest on the Alex Jones show Aug. 14, and it made for some excellent and thought-provoking television. Look for it on Jones' site or maybe Google video.

The news that soon we may have an additional three planets in the solar system came - oddly enough - as no surprise to me. I've often wondered if there might be twelve planets, considering the tremendous symbolism of the number 12, and the concept of 12+1 throughout history.

Jesus and 12 disciples, 12 months, 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 daytime hours, 12 nighttime hours, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 semi-tones in a scale, 12 inches in a foot, "12 Days of Christmas," ... why not the sun and 12 planets? Even if the new 'planets' are not officially recognized as such, it doesn't change the fact that they are there, and there are really twelve celestial bodies in the solar system, plus the Sun.

With Eyes Closed spurs another attack

The dust has settled, the smoke has cleared, and the offending party has probably scurried back under his rock, so I will tell you now of a recent attack (yes, another) on With Eyes Closed.

Another blogger found his way to my blog, read some posts, and posted a couple of intelligent retorts: "Moron." and "You sir, are an idiot."

Naturally, I sent him an e-mail, letting him know what I thought of his witty banter. First, tho, I paid a visit to HIS blog, the cleverly titled "Shoot A Liberal." It was interesting to note that, while begging his readers to "pray for" various family members, and voicing his support for Isreal using Scripture quotations, he was calling for the shooting of people who hold differing views than his own, and leaving hateful comments on strangers' blogs.

So, again naturally, I pointed out his apparent hipocrisy, saying that he and those like him are the reason the world hates America and Christians.

After labeling me a "lefty" (I do write left-handed - how did he know?), he questioned my own faith, stating (as his only reason) that he had remembered reading profanity on my blog. So someone who spreads unprovoked hatred, supports illegal war, and calls (whether literally or figuratively) for the shooting of those with differing values and opinions is a model of Christian virtue, while someone who used the word "shit" is doomed to hell? Typical.

And it *is* typical. Typical that we can be rotting from intolerance, bigotry, self-righteousness, hatred, and finger-pointing on the inside, but if we put forth the proper appearance on the outside (spouting Bible verses, going faithfully to church, saying the 'right' words), we can convince ourselves that we're "OK."

I'm sure attacks will continue. I choose to put my views 'out there' for public perusal, so I must expect dissenters. I just hope my future 'attackers' will use intelligence and logic, and encourage rational discussion, rather than resorting to name-calling, political stereotyping, and drive-by pot-shots.

9/11 Article on CNN.com

Another quickie, sorry... I'm not usually a "cut & paste" blogger, but I like to share good stuff when I see it. Here's a relatively unbiased news report and poll (vote, and check the results!) on CNN.com, about the 9/11 Truth Movement.

http://tinyurl.com/hrcfm

This thing is gaining momentum, and is something we're all going to start hearing a lot more about as the 5-year anniversary approaches.

NOW is the time to educate yourself. We are on the brink of a nuclear conflict, potentially escalating to a third world war. How much more conflict can our already-strained military handle? If we can shed light on the truth behind the events that led us to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, maybe we can stop the downhill train that is leading us all to destruction...

9/11 Article in Vanity Fair

Quickie... here's a link to a good article in Vanity Fair about "Loose Change" and the 9/11 Truth movement. Remember, I have DVDs if anyone needs one.
